Ana Gordina

Fundraising Page

I lost both of my grandmas in the battle with cancer. Coming from Moldova, one of the poorest countries in the world, where development on research and cure of cancer is much slower (if any), spreading the word about Esophageal cancer is crucial. Rappelling scares me, but not as much as I’m scared of losing other people to cancer who are close to me. Your donation would mean the world to me and will help me overcome the fear while also spreading awareness both in the US and my home country!

Please consider helping me reach my goal by visiting my fundraising page at the link above.

Why your support matters:

  • Millions of Americans are at risk for this deadly disease and yet have no idea that reflux diseases can lead to Cancer. I’m working with ECAN to change that.
Esophageal Cancer is one of the fastest increasing cancer diagnoses in America and kills nearly twice as many people in the U.S. each year as melanoma. Yet, while most of us know about risks of sun exposure, few are aware of the link between Reflux Disease and Cancer.
  • By the time Esophageal Cancer is detected, it’s usually too late to save lives because symptoms don’t appear until the disease has progressed too far to be treated effectively. Early detection saves lives.
  • I’m working with ECAN to make sure people with persistent heartburn, hoarse voice, chronic cough, sore throat or choking when they lie down talk to their medical professionals to find out if they are at risk for this deadly disease – before it’s too late.

Please consider a contribution to help me reach my fundraising goal. Just as important, please consider sending this message on to your friends and family so that they can hear our life-saving message, too.

Ana will be doing her rappel in honor of Jeff Dunbar, who lost his battle with Esophageal Cancer in August, 2013.
