Like many of our committee members, Liz has a personal connection with EC: her boyfriend’s aunt is currently battling esophageal cancer. According to Liz, “she’s one tough cookie” and has been fighting EC on and off for 5 years.

After her friend Brandon’s brother was diagnosed with Stage IV EC, he reached out and became involved with ECAN and asked Liz to join in the effort. Since she has gotten involved, she has learned more about the importance of EC screening at the onset of symptoms.

Although she won’t be rappelling – she says she has mild panic attacks before getting on a roller coaster – she is excited to get involved with ECAN & to help spread the message while collaborating with amazing people.
